In 2024 the European Journal of Neurology will celebrate its 30th anniversary. We will take the opportunity of this anniversary to organise several events and publications:
- Ten webinars covering a large range of topics in neurology will be held by the EAN between January and December (one per month, except between June and August, and two in September). These webinars will be announced by the head office on a quarterly basis. The programmes of the first two (Stroke, on 17 January, and Autonomic nervous system disorders, on 21 February) are already finalised and will be announced in November.
- A special issue of the journal on history will be released in June 2024, to coincide with the EAN congress in Helsinki. This special issue will include two types of articles: commissioned articles, with an organisational focus; and free submissions with a disease-oriented focus. The deadline for submissions is 29 February. A few articles are already available online.
- A virtual issue with the most cited article of each year between 1994 and 2022 will be published.
- Video interviews with the previous editors of the journal will be organised and appear on the EAN website, starting with François Boller in January.
- A special episode of eanCast: Weekly Neurology will be recorded, highlighting the history of the European Journal and offering a preview of what is to come in 2024.
Of course, we will continue the usual contribution of the EJoN during the EAN Congress (symposium, scientific theatre, and EJoN Prize with a presentation by the winner at the highlight session and a video interview conducted by one of the editors).
We hope this will be useful and that our members and readers will enjoy.
