Draft IHI Call 11 topics now available – brain health in focus
The Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) has just published draft topic texts for its upcoming Call 11, expected to launch officially in late June 2025. Some of the topics may be of high relevance to the neurology research community.
Key draft topics of interest for neurologists:
- Towards precision medicine: platform for transdiagnostic stratification of brain dysfunction
This call will support the adaptation of a federated data platform and integration of multimodal clinical data to identify and validate candidate biomarkers across disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, major depressive disorder, and obesity—paving the way for more targeted diagnostics and treatment strategies in brain health.
- Understanding how infections foster and induce non-communicable diseases
This call aims to uncover the causal links between infections and chronic diseases to support the development of early diagnostics, preventive vaccines, and intervention strategies—ultimately improving patient outcomes, enabling earlier treatment, and reducing the long-term burden on healthcare systems.
- AI-powered signal detection in pharmacovigilance
This call seeks to develop transparent, trustworthy AI tools and guidelines for faster, more accurate detection and prediction of medicine-related risks—empowering regulators, industry, and researchers to act earlier and more effectively, ultimately improving patient safety across the medicine lifecycle.
Final texts may change before publication. Researchers are encouraged to begin networking and proposal planning now.
Call Topics to be officially opened for applications: Late June 2025 (expected)
