The Scientific Panel on Movement Disorders Management Group invites you to join us for the excellent movement disorders programme at the upcoming EAN Congress 2025. The programme has been prepared in collaboration between the EAN and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society – European Section (MDS-ES).
The annual MDS-ES European Basal Ganglia Club Special Session is scheduled for Saturday, 21 June, 15:30 – 17:00. This session features Enza Maria Valente (Pavia, Italy) delivering the C. David Marsden Award lecture, ‘Back to the Future: The (R)evolution of Parkinson’s Disease Genetics. This special session also features video case presentations from junior colleagues and award lectures from Dystonia Europe
The Saturday programme also includes the timely Symposium, New and Future Treatments of Parkinson’s Disease and Related Disorders (10:30 – 12:30), and Focused Workshop, Normal pressure hydrocephalus and Neurodegeneration: Two sides of the same coin? (8:30 – 10:00).
The Movement Disorders programme continues Sunday, 22 June, with a demonstration of case scenarios in the Case-Based Workshop: Surgical Treatment of Tremor and Parkinson’s Disease (15:30-17:00)and a Teaching Course dedicated to: Update on Diagnosis and Treatment of Dystonia (15:30 – 18:45)
Monday, 23 June is a full day of movement disorder education including five opportunities for sessions: the Focused Workshop, Update on Genetic Movement Disorders (08:30 – 10:00), the debate on DLB vs PDD in the Controversy Session: Are Dementia with Lewy Bodies and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia Two Sides of the Same Coin? (15:30 – 16:15), Teaching Course: How to Untangle the Diagnostic Complexity of Chorea (15:30 – 18:45), plus two Interactive Sessions: Emergencies in Movement Disorders (11:00 – 12:30) and a unique case-driven Interactive Session coordinated by the MDS Young Members Group and EAN Residents & Research Fellows Section: Movement Disorders in Daily Practice (15:30-17:00).
Don’t miss the Scientific Theatre Session Monday at 14:05 – 14:35 featuring MDS President, Victor Fung and MDS-ES Chair, Christine Klein discussing recent updates in Movement Disorders.
The movement disorders programme concludes on Tuesday, 24 June with the Hands on Course: Bring Your Own Laptop,Neuroimaging in Movement Disorders (08:30 – 10:00).
