As part of its ongoing mission to promote scientific excellence and foster deeper collaboration within the EAN community, the first edition of the EAN Panel Yearbook has been launched, offering a comprehensive overview of the most significant advances and current state-of-the-art developments in each panel’s neurological field. The Panel Yearbook was recently presented during the Opening Session of the EAN Congress 2025 in Helsinki as an annual highlight which is “Quick to read and essential to know”.
Intended for neurologists specialising in the respective panels’ fields as well as the broader neurological community, the Panel Yearbook highlights the most important contributions to neurological literature and scientific progress, as selected by the various EAN Scientific & Coordinating Panels. It further includes a foreword by Prof. Elena Moro, EAN President, and Prof. Gereon Fink, EAN Scientific Committee Chair. As stated there, the Panel Yearbook also raises awareness of the need for increased research funding and emphasises the current research gaps. These critical issues have also been addressed in A strategic neurological research agenda for Europe: Towards clinically relevant and patient-centred neurological research priorities by P. Boon et al.
The Panel Yearbook presents summaries of three to five of the most outstanding recent advances per contributing panel as well as the most relevant scientific references, chosen from top neurological publications from around the world. Available exclusively in digital format, the EAN Panel Yearbook can be accessed on the EAN website.
