During the EAN Congress 2025 in Helsinki, a series of interviews with the presidents of national neurological societies (NNS) provided a comprehensive look at the state of neurology across Europe. These conversations offered a platform for NNS leaders to share the status of neurology in their respective countries, highlighting their achievements, the initiatives they have undertaken to improve brain health, and the pressing issues that continue to shape their work.
The interviews covered a wide range of topics, from the structure and activities of each national neurological society to the critical issues surrounding neurology in their respective countries. Discussions explored how societies are addressing the needs of individuals with neurological disorders, the importance of public awareness campaigns and other strategies to improve healthcare access, and the role of national societies in improving resources for neurological care.
The initiative provided a platform for the NNS leaders to reaffirm the critical need to enhance the public understanding of brain health, the importance of a cohesive and collaborative global approach to addressing neurological challenges, and the collective responsibility to ensure better outcomes for individuals affected by neurological disorders.
