At the end of 2025, the EAN President, Elena Moro, joined a Zoom call with eanNews Editor Benedetta Bodini to talk about her experiences and achievements in the position she has held since July 2024.
The conversation addresses the EAN’s successes under her leadership and Moro’s aims for her presidency, with the president highlighting the society’s progress on diversity, equity, and inclusion (with the establishment of the Coordinating Panel on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Neurology and the EAN Neuro-DEI Hub) and strengthening relationships with national neurological societies and other organisations.
The interview also touches on her personal experience in the role, which she sees as “serving the community” with “a responsibility to … try to communicate as much as you can with your people”, as well as her thoughts on being the EAN’s first woman president and the representation of women within the organisation, and the experience of answering the community’s questions each month in the President’s Corner series on eanNews.
