The European Journal of Neurology is inviting researchers to submit original research articles, short communications, reviews, commentaries, and letters for a special issue on Environmental Influences in Neurology.
This special issue aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and advance the scientific understanding of how environmental factors contribute to neurological disorders.
Topics for this call for papers include but are not restricted to:
- Climate change and its effects on neurological health
- Air pollution and neurological disorders
- Neurotoxic exposures (chemicals, microplastics, heavy metals, pesticides, etc)
- Environmental stressors and brain health
- Preventative strategies and public health intervention
- Multi-level interactions between risk factors, including genetics
- Adaptation strategies
- Economic impact of environmental changes on the burden of neurological disorders
- Gaining mechanistic insights into how environmental factors affect the nervous system
- Epidemiological studies that link environmental exposures with neurological outcomes
- Translational and clinical studies identifying biomarkers of environmental impact
- Interactions between genetic susceptibility and environmental risk
