The European Brain Health Summit returns on 18 March 2026 as a half day event within the broader Brain Health Day: Prevention, Policy, Progress initiative. The Brain Health Day is a joint effort led by the Brain Health Mission, the European Academy of Neurology, the European Brain Council and the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies, with the support of MEP Angelika Winzig, as a series of events aiming to raise awareness of brain health.
The summit will once again bring together policymakers, clinicians, researchers, patient advocates, and other key stakeholders, serving as a platform for high-level discussions on the future of brain health in Europe. Hosted at TownHall Europe in Brussels and live-streamed, the summit will take place during Brain Awareness Week (16–22 March 2026), a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness of brain-related diseases and the importance of maintaining neurological health.
This year’s summit comes at a critical juncture as the need for a coherent, coordinated strategy to address brain disorders across Europe has never been more urgent. The event will focus on key challenges and solutions for advancing brain health in Europe. Central to the 2026 agenda is the concept of optimal brain functioning across the life course. Discussions will highlight early childhood development as a crucial determinant of long-term brain health, while exploring the role of policies aimed at reducing the risk of brain conditions through prevention, early detection, and early intervention.
Panel discussions will also address the importance of a coordinated European strategy to tackle the growing burden of neurological disorders. The speakers will explore how aligning policy frameworks, research efforts, healthcare systems, and collaborative action can strengthen prevention, improve early diagnosis, and enhance treatment outcomes. In addition, the economic impact of brain health will be discussed, with a focus on how sustained investment in research, treatment, and public health strategies can drive economic growth, improve societal well-being, and reduce the financial burden of neurological diseases.
