Ghent, Belgium — 5 March 2026
Ghent University, in collaboration with the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), will host the EAN Brain Health Strategy Chair Symposium on 5 March 2026, bringing together leading experts to highlight the urgent importance of brain health across Europe. The event will explore the burden of brain disorders, the latest scientific advances, and the growing momentum behind national and international brain health initiatives.
The symposium will open with an address by Prof. Paul Boon, Co-chair of the Brain Health Mission, and Past President of the EAN. A distinguished faculty—including Prof. Elena Moro, President of the EAN, Prof. Petra De Sutter, Rector of Ghent University, and others—will discuss topics ranging from the societal impact of neurological disorders and the emerging ‘brain economy’ to pioneering research underway in Belgium.
Two focused scientific sessions will showcase key developments in stress and brain health, preclinical research, lifestyle-based approaches, and the vision behind the newly established Brain Health Chair within the 4Brain research group at Ghent University.
The symposium is not only an opportunity for knowledge exchange—it is a call to action. With brain disorders representing one of the greatest health and societal challenges of our time, the event underscores a clear message: protecting and promoting brain health must be a collective, urgent priority.
