Join us for our Brain Health Day event, A European Vision for Brain Health: Coordinating Research, Care & Innovation, on 18 March 2026, hosted by MEP Angelika Winzig (EPP, AT) in the European Parliament. As part of the Brain Health Mission, the Brain Health Day is a joint effort by the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and the European Brain Council (EBC), bringing together a series of events that aim to raise awareness of brain health across Europe.

Taking place during Brain Awareness Week (16–22 March 2026), the event will be held at the European Parliament in Brussels, gathering policymakers, researchers, clinicians, industry leaders, and patient advocates for high-level discussions on the future of brain health in the European Union.
This year’s event arrives at a defining moment for European brain health policy. The European Partnership for Brain Health, a historic €500 million cooperation effort co-funded by the European Commission and 33 Member States, officially kicked off in early 2026, alongside the EU’s finalisation of its 10th Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. Together, these developments create a unique window of opportunity to firmly anchor brain health in Europe’s policy and research agendas.
The event will feature a high-level panel on the role of discovery neuroscience in driving EU competitiveness, with Nobel Prize laureate John O’Keefe, Maria Leptin, President of the European Research Council, and senior voices from industry and academia. A second panel will focus on the pressing need for an EU Coordination Plan for the Brain, a structured framework to reduce fragmentation across research, care, innovation, and prevention. Members of the European Parliament from across party groups will contribute throughout the event, reflecting growing cross-party commitment to building a brain-healthy union.
Join us on 18 March from 16:00 to 18:00 CET at the Presidential Salon, European Parliament.
