Massimo Pandolfo (MP): I am currently professor of neurology and director of the Laboratory of Experimental Neurology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels, Belgium, and chief of neurology at the ULB-Erasme University Hospital in Brussels. -
On March 18th, 2016 the ‘Consensus statement on European Brain Research’ (Morris et al., 2016) has been launched in Brussels at the Brussel office of the European Brain Council. Several organisations related to brain science, including the European Academy of Neurology, participated. The European Brain Council is uniting the European organisations of physicians for Neurology, Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, the scientists for both molecular and systemic Neurosciences and the European patient organisations for neurological and psychiatric diseases (see below 1). -

It was founded in order to create a common platform for the national European societies of neuro-rehabilitation as well as other organizations with similar interests. -

I am a full Professor at the University of Leuven Belgium and Director of the Pediatric Neurology program at the University Hospitals of the University of Leuven Belgium. We offer a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic program for all major neurological problems in children. -

Stefan Oberndorfer (SO): As a Neurologist, my special field of interest is clinical Neuro-oncology. Presently, I am working as a head of Department for Neurology at the Karl Landsteiner University Clinic of St Pölten in Austria. My main areas of clinical research are brain tumors, tumor associated epilepsy, palliative care in brain tumor patients, spinal metastases, neurotoxicity of anticancer treatment, paraneoplastic neurological syndromes and symptomatic treatment in neuro-oncology. -

In February 2016 the new Quality Management System (QMS) of the EAN Admin has been reviewed by an external auditor from the Quality Austria. Eveline Sipido from Brussels and Magda Dohnalová from Prague also participated in this audit at the EAN Head Office in Vienna.
