The couple of papers that I would like to point out to our readers are strictly related, and their relevance stream out of the fact that at least 1 person is diagnosed every minute with neurodegenerative dementia ( mainly Alzheimer’s disease, but FTD and Lewy Body Disease as well), but scientists have not yet found a cure for both the disease itself and/or its symptoms progression.

No doubt, the evidence is piling up: misfolded protein pathologies can spread throughout the nervous system in a prion-like fashion. Neurology is an important discipline and is rapidly developing. Recent economic studies have identified that one third of the European population is affected by a brain disease and they need treatment by neurologists, neurosurgeons and psychiatrists. The costs for these diseases are getting astronomic.
