It’s a pleasure to briefly explain why I am applying for the position of the President of the EAN. The most important attraction is to form this new European Academy of Neurology as a strong organization. I am sure that this will move Neurology in Europe into a pole position.

Gian Luigi Lenzi: How does it feel to be the EAN Member at Large? What is your message to the European neurological community?

I was looking forward to this meeting, but it exceeded all my expectations. Excellent speakers, very relevant topics…. My two highlights were the “Year of the Brain 2014” i.e. the Plenary session and the Tournament in “basic neurology”, in which young neurologists presented their high quality research and competed with others for the Uschi Tschabitscher Prize.
