The EAN is pleased to open the call for applications for the CoCoCare programme 2026–2027, welcoming a new group of motivated neurology residents and early career neurologists to take part in this clinical practice guidelines (CPG) training initiative.
CoCoCare was created to strengthen capacity in CPG development within the neurological community. Each cohort brings together 25 early-career clinicians who receive structured training in evidence appraisal, methodological standards, and the practical realities of translating evidence into clinical recommendations. Graduates of the programme are invited to participate in future EAN guideline activities, contributing to the long-term sustainability of high-quality guideline production.
The programme runs over one year and combines flexible online learning with interactive, face-to-face components. Participants begin with an e-learning phase that introduces core concepts in guideline methodology, followed by a dedicated kick-off workshop held during the EAN Congress 2026. The programme concludes at the EAN Congress 2027, where participants present their work and formally graduate.
Clinical practice guidelines remain a strategic priority for the EAN, supporting consistent, evidence-based neurological care across Europe and beyond. Through CoCoCare, the EAN Guideline Production Group continues its commitment to developing the next generation of guideline contributors and methodological experts.
The application period for the 2026–2027 CoCoCare cohort will open in early February 2026. Detailed information on eligibility, selection criteria, and the application process are available here: EAN CoCoCare – ean.org
