Seventeen central, mandatory health registries are being used for health analysis and statistics, quality improvement, research, administration and emergency preparedness. These include the Medical Birth Registry of Norway, Norwegian Cause of Death Registry, Norwegian Patient Registry and Norwegian Prescription Database.
