Norwegian team takes on rest of world in exciting battle of the brains! The BrainChallenge took place today at EAN 2019, for the second time following the success of its introduction in Lisbon at last year’s congress.  It proved to be even more popular the second-time round, and every bit as much fun.  The tension and excitement could be felt in the room as the local team from Norway had to face a formidable international team made up of delegates from several countries.

It is now only a few weeks left before we are all gathered for the 5th EAN Congress and we are looking forward to see you all here in Oslo, Norway.

Oslo is not only the capital of Norway and the host of the 5th EAN Congress, but also a city filled with sustainable neighborhoods, car-free streets and eco-friendly gourmet restaurants.

Due to the successful debut of BrainChallenge in 2018, the EAN Teaching Course sub-Committee is organising the second edition of this entertaining and challenging Neurology Quiz during the upcoming EAN congress in Oslo in 2019.

We are happy to welcome you at the Oslo City Hall, where the annual Nobel Peace Price ceremony is taking place. Seize the opportunity to visit an impressive place while meeting the speakers and colleagues from all over the world!

The Norwegian population is small, stable, and well organized. Despite having seen increasing urbanization and immigration in recent years, the population of 5.3 million inhabitants is remarkably stable. Specialist health services are close to 100 % publicly financed and equally available to all. All inhabitants have unique Personal Identification Numbers and can easily be identified across a broad range of mandatory and voluntary public registries. Seventeen central, mandatory health registries are being used for health analysis and statistics, quality improvement, research, administration and emergency preparedness. These include the Medical Birth Registry of Norway, Norwegian Cause of Death Registry, Norwegian Patient Registry and Norwegian Prescription Database.
