The Brain Challenge is the annual competition quiz show at the EAN Congress between two rivalling teams. Of course, it also has an educational factor, as patient cases are presented, a fast diagnosis needs to be made, and the case explanation is rounding off each scenario.
In the beginning, the teams are given multiple choice options and can gain points. In the second part, the battle round, they have to be fast to hit the buzzer and make the right diagnosis without a selection of answers to choose from.
For this year, since we are in Vienna with two international teams, we named the two opposing teams Team Falco and Team Mozart, after two of Austria’s most famous cultural exports. The host and moderator of the show was, as in previous years, Professor Marie Vidailhet from Paris, France.

Team 2: “Mozart”

Both teams were challenged and the score after round one was 600 points for both. After the battle round, one team was in a slightly better position, but due to some technical problems and to be fair to all, it was decided to declare both teams the winners.
The audience onsite and in front of the screens also took part in the show via online voting and three lucky winners from the onsite visitors were drawn from the raffle and are invited to the Networking event on Monday evening.
