The main topic of the congress will be “Blood-brain barrier in neurological diseases”. Other topics, which will be debated in special symposia, are related to: Stroke, Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Neuropathic pain.
There will be a satellite teaching course on “Treatment-resistant epilepsy”, and 2 joint symposia: one together with the Romanian Society of Internal Medicine, and another with the Romanian Society for Diabetic Neuropathy.
A special event during our congress will be the traditional opening Honorary Lecture “Gh. Marinescu” which this year will be presented by our honorary guest Professor WERNER HACKE (from the University of Heidelberg, Germany) who will also be awarded by the Romanian Society of Neurology with the Honorary Diploma and Medal “Gh. Marinescu” (in the honour of the founder of the Romanian School of Neurology – Professor Gheorghe Marinescu, who is also the author of the first scientific treaty of Neurology in the world ). We have also other very important invited speakers among the most important international personalities in neurology: Professor Riccardo Soffietti (Torino, Italy), Professor Michael Davidson (Tel Aviv, Israel), Professor Daniel Truong (USA), Professor Paul Lyons (USA)
We also intend to announce during this congress, the publication on the Romanian Society of Neurology website of the Romanian version of the last edition of 30 EFNS Guidelines, for which we have obtained the copyright from the editor Wiley Blackwell and the agreement of EFNS.
