Then now is your chance! Following the election of the next EAN Board (taking place on 25 June, 2022, during the Assembly of Delegates), the board will be looking for new officers to join the ranks of its committees and working groups!
Separate calls for expressions of interest for the positions of Education Committee Chair and Programme Committee Chair will also be published in the near future.

After more than seven highly successful and productive years, EAN aims to continue the excellent work of its dedicated officers while giving new colleagues the opportunity to contribute and bring fresh perspectives towards our mission to reduce the burden of neurological disease in Europe.
All EAN officers must be (or become) EAN Full Individual members, must attend the EAN annual congress, and at least one other face-to-face meeting during the year. Regular email contact is expected, as well as participation in monthly tele-conferences. Expenses for any meetings outside the congress will be reimbursed by EAN, but the position is otherwise carried out entirely on a voluntary basis.
On average, EAN committee work amounts to two hours per week. Members of our standing committees serve EAN for a two-year term, with a possible extension for a further term of two years.
Applications will be considered by the Board and EAN President during the summer, based on qualifications and specialty while considering gender balance and currently underrepresented nationalities.

Education Committee & Teaching Course sub-Committee
The EAN Education Committee implements the educational strategy of the EAN Board, which also comprises professional training and education. The members of the Education Committee oversee the grants and fellowships, as well as other projects related to the EAN priorities
The Teaching Course Sub-Committee is responsible for planning and conducting all EAN educational events and specifically for teaching sessions during the annual EAN congress.
For both committees, a track record in neurology education or assessment is particularly desirable.

Programme Committee
This committee is responsible for the scientific programme and sessions of the annual EAN congress, including abstract selection and related issues.

Communication Committee & eCommunciations Board
This committee deals with all of EAN’s external relations, including our various media channels, such as EANpages and the EAN website, as well as relations on a European level.

Scientific Committee & Guideline Production Group
This committee is responsible for all EAN’s scientific contributions and achievements, including guideline production. The Scientific Committee supports the work of the Scientific & Coordinating Panels, integrates their activities within the society, including other committees, and supports their external work

Ethics and Quality Task Force
This task force is responsible for the evaluation of all EAN events and educational grants. It also holds general oversight in terms of ethical considerations regarding EAN and its officers and members.
