As summer draws to an end and we begin the new academic year, it is time for us to start looking ahead to our next annual congress – the 12th Congress of the European Academy of Neurology – which will take us to Geneva, Switzerland on 27-30 June 2026.
In this great city, right in the heart of Europe, we will explore the rising prevalence of artificial intelligence and computing in neurology with the timely Overarching Theme ‘Brains, Bytes & Beyond: Tech in Neurology’.
The outsourcing of cognitive capacities from humans to artificial intelligence offers huge opportunities but also significant challenges and risks. In clinical neurology, the impact of computing will range from applications like restorative therapies to the very fundamentals of our profession such as clinical reasoning and decision making. Through this year’s theme, we will explore the extent to which computing is finding its way into neurological practice.
Programme details are still being finalised, but another fantastic line-up of named lecturers is already in place for the Presidential Symposium on Sunday 28 June, with Frank Winkler (Heidelberg, Germany, The Brain Prize Lecture); Daniela Berg (Kiel, Germany, Moritz Romberg Lecture); John Rothwell (London, UK, Charles-Édouard Brown-Séquard Lecture); Riccardo Soffietti (Turin, Italy, Camillo Golgi Lecture); and Manju Kurian (London, UK, Anita Harding Award Lecture).
So, block the dates in your calendar and stay tuned for updates on the start of abstract submission and registration!
