World Parkinson’s Day is a yearly international awareness day that highlights Parkinson’s disease, supports people living with it, and calls for better care and healthcare systems across Europe and beyond. It also commemorates Dr. James Parkinson, who first described the condition in 1817.
2026 Campaign key message is to “bridge the care gap”, highlighting that many people with Parkinson’s and their families must still search for and coordinate essential care themselves instead of receiving structured, accessible support from healthcare system.
