On Sunday afternoon, the annual EAN BrainChallenge quiz took place for the 9th time and brought a challenging and educational competition to the stage of the Main Auditorium at the EAN Congress 2026. This year, Team International competed against Team Switzerland, and the audience put their knowledge to the test via interactive voting.
For this year’s show, twelve cases from different neurological sub-specialties were chosen, and after each question was solved, a short educational explanation was given by the moderators, allowing everybody to boost their knowledge.
Questions at different difficulty levels were divided into three categories: 1) My balance is on strike, 2) Destiny, 3) The hardworking muscles.
For the first six questions, teams were given multiple-choice questions, while in the second part, they had to answer open questions as fast as possible by hitting the buzzer first.
The show was guided by our three fantastic moderators: Rolf Fronczek (The Netherlands), Conny Lee (Austria) and Adolfo Mazzeo (Italy).

Congratulations to all team members:
Team International
Carlo Colosimo (Italy), Anamaria Toshi (Germany), InêsCarmo e Pinto (Portugal), Mine Topcuoğlu Karakoç (Türkiye), Irina Maria Vlad (Romania)
Team Switzerland
Frédéric Assal (Geneva), Paolo Ripellino (Lugano), Anton Schmick (Zurich), Christo Bratanov (Geneva), Katharina Schuler (Zurich), Davide Sparasci (Lugano)
After an entertaining competition, Team Switzerland came out the winners – however, both teams and the audience delivered a great performance!
*** Congratulations to Team Switzerland – and thank you all for taking part! ****
