Under the umbrella of the Brain Health Mission, the EAN is proud to support its 48 National Neurological Societies through the EAN Advocacy Training programme, which is offered free of charge to all EAN members. This training is an opportunity to join a community of changemakers, amplify the voice of neurologists, and shape the future of brain health with lasting impact. The course goes beyond theory, offering hands-on experience in crafting compelling messages for decision-makers, engaging stakeholders, and driving change at both local and global levels.
At the EAN Congress 2024, our ambassadors convened to lend their voices in support of brain health. Some have since joined the EAN Communications Committee, contributing to the development of strategies aimed at promoting brain health. Others are actively advocating for brain health within their own countries, supporting the Brain Health Mission, raising awareness, and applying the skills they gained through the training.
For participants, the training was a remarkable experience, offering a systems-thinking perspective that help them identify gaps in healthcare systems and advocate for improved research, innovative treatments, and better patient care.
The 2024 course had over 50 neurologists from 27 countries, and for 2025, EAN has added a dedicated module on collaborating with patient organisations. Over time, this programme will build an active network of skilled neurologists across Europe who can drive meaningful change in neurology. Equipped to influence policymakers, they will advocate for improved care pathways, advanced treatments, and increased investment in neurology research, strengthening brain health for future generations.
Application is now open for the 2025 EAN Advocacy Training programme until 19 December!
