Following the election of new EAN Board members at the EAN Congress 2026, the newly composed EAN Board will appoint a Teaching Course Sub-Committee Chair and two Ethics and Quality Advisory Board Co-Chairs. We are therefore calling for applications from colleagues who would be interested in taking on these important functions within the EAN and are willing to devote their time and energy to the associated tasks.
1. The Teaching Course Sub-Committee (TCsC) reports to the EAN Education Committee, and is responsible for the content and delivery of all educational sessions at the congress and programmes outside the congress, including EAN Schools, Regional Teaching events and courses in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa. The detailed composition of the TCsC and the annual agenda can be found here.
Teaching Course Sub-Committee Chair Requirements:
- Must be (or become) EAN Full Individual member
- Is appointed by the EAN Board
- Has a seat in the EAN Education (EC) and Programme Committee (PC)
- Must attend the EAN annual congress (Friday – Tuesday)
- On average 2-3 hours per week related mails and projects (regular email contact is expected with the EAN office)
- Teaching course sub-Committee: 5-6 virtual meetings, 3 in-person meetings
- Education Committee: 3-4 virtual meetings, 2 in-person meetings
- Programme Committee: 5-6 virtual meetings, 2-3 in-person meetings
- Expenses for any meetings outside the congress are fully met, but the position is otherwise entirely voluntary
- Chairpersons and members of our standing committees kindly serve EAN for a 2-year term and can prolong this term by another 2 years.
2. The Ethics and Quality Advisory Board (EQAB) is an independent working group which reports directly to the EAN Board. It advises all other EAN committees and working groups. It is responsible for defining and assessing compliance with quality standards for all activities, carried out by the EAN, to ensure that high quality programmes are delivered. Ethics and Quality Advisory Board Co-Chair Requirements:
- Must be (or become) EAN Full Individual member
- Is appointed by the EAN Board
- Must attend the EAN annual congress (Friday – Tuesday)
- On average 2-3 hours per week related mails and projects (regular email contact is expected with the EAN office)
- Ethics and Quality Advisory Board: 2-3 virtual meetings, 2 in-person meetings
- Provide leadership to the Ethics and Quality Advisory Board, oversee and supervise all evaluation processes
- Expenses for any meetings outside the congress are fully met, but the position is otherwise entirely voluntary
- Chairpersons and members of our standing committees kindly serve EAN for a 2-year term and can prolong this term by another 2 years.
