The EAN TV session ‘RRFS: Neurology Beyond Gender’ at the EAN Congress 2026 brought together experts from across Europe to explore how sex, gender, and diversity influence neurological health and clinical care. The discussion highlighted growing evidence that biological sex affects the risk, presentation, and outcomes of many neurological disorders, while also addressing the unique challenges faced by transgender and LGBTQ+ individuals within healthcare systems. Speakers emphasised the need for more inclusive research, improved education for neurologists, and practical strategies to deliver equitable, patient-centred neurological care. The session offered a timely reminder that precision medicine must account for the diversity of the people we serve.
