The German Congress on Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders 2026 will be held from April 16 to 18, 2026, at the Kongresshalle am Zoo in Leipzig. Guided by the central theme “From Gene to System – The Kinetic Code,” the congress will highlight the latest advances in genetics, biomarker research, and both pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies—including botulinum toxin applications and deep brain stimulation.
For the first time, the event is being jointly organized by the German Society for Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders (DPG), the Working Group on Botulinum Toxin (AKBoNT), and the Working Group on Deep Brain Stimulation (AG THS). This expanded collaboration will provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary platform for scientific dialogue, clinical education, and professional exchange.
A strong emphasis will also be placed on supporting early-career researchers, including a dedicated symposium hosted by the newly established Young Parkinson’s Research Initiative.
