On 21 June 2021, the virtual general assembly of the EAN’s Resident and Research Fellow Section (RRFS) took place during the 7th annual congress. The assembly received broad participation from RRFS members who were interested in gaining insight into the annual report as well as the new Treasurer elections.

An update on the RRFS National Representatives initiative. created to establish a network of junior national representatives within the RRFS.

Health Data Sharing is a key issue at EU level and the European Commission has introduced a range of new initiatives like the European Health Data Space, the 1 million genomes project and the Artificial Intelligence strategy that aim to facilitate European coordination and cooperation.

Laboratory experts from the BioMed Alliance IVD Working Group released a new statement highlighting a looming threat for the diagnostic sector, the slow implementation of the new In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR). They argue that urgent actions are necessary now to prevent a collapse of the diagnostic sector.

The International Myositis Society (iMyoS) is a new society to support the diagnosis and treatment of myositis by implementing interdisciplinary standards of care on a global scale.

The eighth World brain day (WBD) on July 22 2022 moves to stop multiple sclerosis. The World Federation of Neurology and Multiple Sclerosis International Federation teamed up on this ambitious agenda to stop multiple sclerosis as the theme throughout 2021.
