The EAN Scientific Panel on Movement Disorders Management Group invites you to join us for the excellent movement disorders programme at the upcoming EAN Annual Congress. The programme has been prepared in collaboration between the EAN and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society – European Section (MDS-ES).
The annual European Basal Ganglia Club Special Session is scheduled for Saturday afternoon (15:30 – 17:00). This session features Claudia Trenkwalder presenting the C. David Marsden Award lecture, Sleep as a Window to Movement Disorders: REM-Sleep Behavior Disorder and Parkinsonian Syndromes. Following Prof. Trenkwalder’s lecture, the Dystonia Europe 2023 David Marsden Award winner will present a talk based on her award-winning paper, and we will close with video case presentations from junior colleagues.
The Saturday programme also includes the Symposium New Technologies & Movement Disorders: Towards a Novel Care Paradigm (10:30 – 12:30), and the Hands-On Course Practical Approach to Tremor – Level 2 (08:30 – 10:00).
The Movement Disorders programme continues Sunday with a Focused Workshop on Early/Prodromal Detection and Risk Stratification in Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia with Lewy Bodies (09:00 – 10:30) and a Teaching Course on Differential Diagnosis of Movement Disorders: Beyond Motor Symptoms – Level 3 (15:30 – 18:45).
The Monday programme includes three movement disorder sessions: the Focused Workshop Pediatric Syndromes with Movement Disorders and Epilepsy (08:30 – 10:00), the Case-based Workshop Diagnosis and Management of Atypical Parkinsonian Syndromes (15:30 – 17:00), and the Interactive Session Focus on Difficult-to-Treat Parkinson’s Disease and Atypical Parkinsonian Symptoms (17:30 – 19:00).
There are two additional opportunities for movement disorder sessions on Tuesday: the Interactive Session Functional Movement Disorders (8:30 – 10:00) and the Teachin Course Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders – Level 2 (13:30 – 17:00).
In addition to the movement disorders sessions, there are several opportunities to view oral presentations, ePosters and ePresentations on movement disorders. Times for all sessions are available on the congress website.
