Brain health back on the agenda in the European Parliament. Research policy still pending.

On 16 October, EAN participated in an event in the European Parliament organized by Global Alliance of Mental Illness Advocacy Networks-Europe (GAMIAN Europe). The event brought together the MEP Alliance for Mental Health, organizations and societies focused on brain and mental health as well as several policy makers from the EU institutions. This MEP Alliance is endorsed by 26 members of the European Parliament.

In this article, our goal is to provide a glimpse into the excellent collaboration and cooperation our organization has had with the European Federation of Neurorehabilitation Societies (EFNR).

The first ever Neuromuscular Summer Course held in Budapest at Semmelweis University and endorsed by the EAN on May 29-30  2019 was a great success.

EFNA goes global and attends the WHA – World Health Assembly UN Geneva Headquarters from May 20 – 28 2019. Diseases know no borders. Only by truly pooling our resources and going beyond our individual disease areas, our constituencies and countries, do we stand a chance of adequately addressing the challenges of ill-health and inequalities.

This event was organized by the Foundation of the Society for the Study of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity, together with the Romanian Society of Neurology and “Iuliu Hatieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It was endorsed by the World Federation of Neurorehabilitation (WFNR), the European Federation of Neurorehabilitation Societies (EFNR) and the EAN.
