We are looking forward to welcoming you to Yerevan, a vibrant and welcoming city where ancient history blends seamlessly with modern culture and a warm welcome. Historians date Yerevan to 782 BC, making it older than Rome. The city’s long and eventful history is linked to the ancient Urartian king, Argishti I, who built a fortress on Arin-Berd Hill and named it Erebuni. Yerevan only became the capital of Armenia in 1920, after first being briefly mentioned in 15th-century chronicles. Pink tufa was predominantly used in Yerevan’s construction, which is why the Armenian capital is sometimes called the ‘Pink City’. Located in the heart of Armenia, Yerevan serves as a gateway to remarkable historical sites, unique cuisine, and unforgettable cultural experiences, making your conference visit not only professionally rewarding but also truly memorable.
