The main objective of World Brain Day is to increase public awareness and promote advocacy related to brain health.

Ahead of discussions on the new Multiannual Financial Framework (EU Budget for 2021-2027) during the European Council Summit on 20-21 June, the BioMed Alliance together with the EU Health Coalition partners published a statement advocating for a more substantial EU research budget.

It was the third time our Department in Lviv supervised a Regional Teaching Course (RTC), funded by the EAN. The RTC took place from 16-18 May, 2019.

June 2019 marks the fifth year since the foundation of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) with the purpose of promoting excellence across the region.

For August 2018, we have selected: Corvol JC, Artaud F, Cornier-Dequaire F, et al., for the DIGPD Study Group. Longitudinal analysis of impulse control disorders in Parkinson disease. Neurology 2018. doi:10.1212/WNL.0000000000005816. Impulse control disorders (ICDs) are frequent in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients, and can have relevant consequences on social life. Whereas the association between treatment with dopamine agonists (DA) and the onset of ICDs is well known, there is controversy about the relationship with dose and duration of DA therapy.

The purpose I defined for my internship was to learn pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and treatment of a large spectrum of neuroimmunological diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system.

The International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) is a global network founded in 2005 as a worldwide community for brain tumour patient organisations, medical professionals  and others in the field of neuro oncology. Neurology training in Europe varies considerably between countries. Results from a recent survey have been published in the European Journal of Neurology, highlighting similarities and differences between European Union (EU) countries, other European Economic Area countries, and Switzerland.

On Wednesday January 18th, the working groups of the Value of Treatment (VOT) project met to update on the work done and share the outcomes achieved.

The new website of the European Academy of Neurology is online! This is an important step for our Society to have this exciting tool for communication. It has taken some time since making the plans in 2014 but now most of the expectations are met.
