The EAN Liaison Committee (LC) is the meeting point and link for all activities and contacts that the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) has with neurology related activities and societies. The LC creates the ideal platform for all elements of the EAN’s external work to come and link together and develops new contacts with societies related to the field of neurology.

Terrence Cascino (TC): The Academy exists because of the enormous intellect among the hundreds of volunteer neurologists who help to provide the unparalleled programs, products, and services to our more than 28,000 members around the world. As proposed by Professor Günther Deuschl, a special session which included also Prof. David B. Vodušek (Ljubljana, Slovenia), Prof. Wolfgang Oertel (Marburg, Germany) and D. A. Macerollo (London, UK) and Prof. Stefan Zierz (Halle, Germany) was organised by the German Neurological Society within their DGN Forum - Germany Meets Europe: What EAN can achieve for science, medical care and education.

Gian Luigi Lenzi (GLL): The EAN website is to become the primary source of information on European neurology. Can you briefly describe/illustrate your plans to achieve this? Tim von Oertzen (TvO): The website is an essential tool for EAN to communicate and interact with its members and with the public. To fulfill this role its users should easily find the information they are looking for within an intuitive design. We will provide information on the EAN, its programmes and initiatives as well as on neurology in Europe.
