The 11th Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) officially opened in Helsinki, welcoming an enthusiastic community of neurologists, researchers and clinicians from across the globe.

The EAN 2025 Opening Session took place on Saturday night, with the whole show recorded and now available to watch on demand. No registration necessary!

The popular Basal Ganglia Club reassembled again at EAN 2025 in Helsinki, featuring the C. David Marsden Award Lecture, the Dystonia Europe – David Marsden Award Lecture, and a choice selection of rare and challenging case presentations.

This EAN TV Studio session spotlighted the urgent need for national brain plans and a coordinated EU strategy to tackle the rising burden of brain disorders.

This joint session with the European Psychiatric Association focused on the fascinating interplay between neurology and psychiatry, emphasising shared mechanisms across mental and neurological disorders.

This powerful EAN 2025 session brought together the latest data on the burden and cost of neurological disease in Europe, from DALYs to euros, and highlighted how neurology must take centre stage in shaping public health strategy across the continent.

At the EAN Congress 2025 in Helsinki, the EAN awarded the title of Lifetime Fellow of the European Academy of Neurology to Joke Jaarsma, former President of EFNA recognising her exceptional contributions to patient advocacy. She is the first patient representative to receive this distinction. 

This EAN TV Studio session, hosted by the European Brain Council, highlighted the vision behind the upcoming European Partnership for Brain Health, set to launch in January 2026.

In the first EAN TV session of EAN 2025, titled RRFS: Neurology of the Future, a panel of speakers including EAN President, Elena Moro, and representatives from the EAN Residents & Research Fellows Section (RRFS), talked about how innovation, new technology, and artificial intelligence are helping improve neurological care.
