The special session of the Residents and Research Fellow Section (RRFS) took place on Sunday 25.06.2017 during the EAN congress 2017 in Amsterdam. This year the special session was held in a novel format with the aim to create a more informal environment between juniors and senior researchers and clinicians.

The 18th course of the Spring School attracted attention of 187 colleagues from 36 countries. Due to the capacity reasons we were forced to refuse one third of the applicants. Traditionally the highest interest was from Russia – 29, Uzbekistan - 21 and Romania - 19. As usually we had again delegates from mediterranian Africa. this year, we had 90 female participants and 31 male participants.

We are delight to announce the launch of a new programme - the EAN-Day - for bringing international speakers to your national or regional meeting, and strengthening the links between EAN and our National Neurological Member Societies and Corresponding Societies. 

The case-based workshop is a new format of teaching available during the EAN congress, and it has already become very popular. While preparing this workshops requires considerable prerequisite work from the presenters, attendees will have a high level educational experience.

When coming back from international congresses, it happens to be asked by our patients if we have heard about new innovative and highly effective treatments or new research about specific neurological diseases…
